Ipads and Robotics

    1 to 1 Ipad Program

Here at Sara Coughlin Elementary School, students are on a 1:1 iPad program to extend and enhance their learning throughout the day. This program helps students expand twenty-first century learning and integrate technology at the school site.  It allows teachers to engage with students and differentiate learning to a much greater degree. In classrooms, students learn to access and evaluate online information, conduct digital presentations and communicate their findings in an effective and innovative manner.  We strongly believe that students at Sara Coughlin Elementary will be college and career ready.

    Lego Mindstorms Ev3

LEGO® Robotics for primary school provide the engaging, hands-on experiences students need to explore core STEM concepts. LEGO® bricks, programming tools, and supporting lesson plans for teachers ignite students natural curiosity, helping them develop essential communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking-skills in a fun and exciting way. Tactile, flexible solutions grow with students as they problem-solve and discover how science, technology, engineering, and math affect their everyday life.

Ms. Edemann's and Mr. Rodriguez's class compete in a robotics match

In a collaborative effort, students in Ms. Edemann and Mr. Rodriguez class worked together and prepared for a friendly competition with the Lego Mindstorms Ev3. This friendly competition gave students the opportunity to demonstrated their ability to work together and be able to showcase their excellent coding skills to their fellow schoolmates.
